I’m not necessarily afraid of spiders, but when I inadvertently walk into their webs, it does “creep me out.” This time of year seems to bring out the orb-weaver spiders, who love to weave their webs on my entry door to my garage. As I was about to leave my house this morning, this spider almost greeted me outside my kitchen door.
I chose to leave the house by the front door and not disturb the spider. Upon rounding the side of the house, I found what looked like a Halloween display with webs strung from the flower pots, and three other large orb-webs that were at least two-feet in diameter.

So, I’m watching where I walk and carefully avoid being the victim of wearing spider webs to work.

Thanks, Amy. We both headed in the same direction in interpretation, but your spider was much larger and more creepy!

Yeah, but walking through a web definitely creeps me out!

What’s creepy is that “face” on the abdomen! I like to keep my distance from spiders, but I am fascinated by them, and love watching them weave their webs and catch their prey. We all stood recently and watched our laundry room windowsill spider wrap up a fly (he was making quite a racket). The webs are unsightly, but I appreciate how many bugs he catches, so he stays!

Yes, they are fascinating to watch make their webs and catch their victims. I think I have so many webs on the side of my house because I’ve been leaving the light on at night…bug magnet. Thanks for commenting, Kim!

I am glad others are not afraid of spiders. There is one the aggressive house spider. He/she looks like many other spiders and bite can lead to ER. They come inside at this time of the year.

While I’m not afraid, I am cautious, especially of brown recluse spiders. I’ve seen my share of those and do not hesitate to kill them. Their bite can be bad! Thanks for stopping by, Betty Louise!

I don’t know anyone who isn’t creeped out by walking into a spider webs. God made possible the spider and the fly, but he also made possible the fly swatter. I’m okay with that. 🙂

Thanks for stopping by, Cris. I checked out your “creepy” and reminded me of my “abandoned” post (https://ruraliowapastor.wordpress.com/2014/03/01/weekly-photo-challenge-abandoned/) which I think was the first time our cyberspace paths crossed.

Chuck, I’m with you. I hate to walk into spider webs. But if I do, I prefer the spider not be present. 🙂 Excellent photos.

Thank you, Janet. I agree with you. In fact I was mowing today and was startled to see a retreating spider as I hit his web. Glad he didn’t attack!
