Weekly Photo Challenge: Motion

I spent only thirty minutes watching an eagles’ nest adjacent to Gray’s Lake in Des Moines last Monday, but in that short time captured some of the domestic motions of these beautiful bald eagles. It was exciting to capture one parent’s return with some food for the couple’s two eaglets. Flying in, he’s bringing home the bacon, I mean the fish.

One has to stay hydrated when working!

IMGP3530There’s always the need to remodel the nest…gathering up more nesting material.

I checked the nest on Thursday and they are still at work, caring for their brood.IMGP3695

    • Thanks, Agnes. It is an incredible opportunity to see these amazing birds within the confines of our state capital just yards from a major jogging trail. I was blessed to have been able to observe such familial interaction in such a short amount of time. Thanks for your stopping by.

    • Thanks, Paula. I continue to be amazed at these birds. Feel so blessed to be able to see them “in the wild” and so easily accessible to public viewing. I still have a lot to learn about getting the right settings for motion.

    • Thanks, Chuck! They are indeed magnificent birds. “Yet those who wait for the Lord will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary”. Isaiah 40:31
