Weekly Photo Challenge: Split Second Story – In this week’s photo challenge, capture an image that tells a full story in a single frame.
In order to get this story, two frames are necessary.
While waiting to take some outdoor family photos (tripod in the background), our family was enjoying some casual conversation in my daughter’s livingroom. As I played around with some low light interior shots, the family dog from his usual perch on the back of the couch decided to make an appearance.

Thanks, Cynthia. He was a rescue dog, having already gone through two owners. While he has been extremely challenging, my daughter vowed to never give him up. He does have a sweet side and loves to snuggle.

I can relate. All of our animals except The Princess and the parrot are rescues.

I think the bottom frame would suffice as well. The dog seems to be ignoring the conversation while “hamming” it up for the photo opportunity! Nice either way!

You’re probably right, Tom. At the time, I didn’t even realize the dog was lying behind them until his head popped up between them. So, thought the two pictures might convey that surprise. Thanks for your comment!

Cutie dog, and smart too! He is part of the family, so he need to be in the photo too!

Yes, he is definitely a part of the family. And while we only visit my daughter’s home once or twice a year, he is always so excited to see us. In true Beagle form, he typically ties to get in bed with us and burrow under the covers. Thanks for stopping by and commenting, Elizabeth!

Yes, Connie. The two were completely engaged in conversation and oblivious to the Beagle (just as I was until he raised his head). I appreciate you stopping and commenting.

My daughter’s dog is a mixed breed containing beagle. We call her a Puglty— a pug, beagle, Sheltie—and we can definitely see all three in her looks and personality.

We had litter mates that were beagle/chihuahua mix, a curious combination. One acted like a high-strung chihuahua and the other like a laid back beagle.
